New Adidas Away Gear

@adidas

Adidas has revealed the nature-inspired away kits for six teams, namely Argentina, Colombia, Germany, Japan, Spain, and Sweden, as part of its partnership with ten teams participating in the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023™. The designs for Costa Rica, Italy, and Jamaica were already unveiled earlier this year, and the kits for the Philippines will be released in the upcoming months. Each federation kit is inspired by the natural landscapes of each country, celebrating the diverse scenery, such as the green woodlands of Germany, the glacial rivers of Sweden, and the ever-changing colors of the Caño Cristales River in Colombia.

The FIFA Women's World Cup is an important event that captures the imagination of both current and new fans across the world. As the tournament will be held in Australia and New Zealand, two countries with iconic landscapes, Adidas wanted to create a common theme throughout its kits to celebrate and appreciate the natural environments found worldwide. The jerseys are performance-led and equipped with modern technologies that allow players to meet the demands of the game. Adidas believes that the designs for this year’s federation kits deliver best-in-class performance sportswear with a bold and exciting design that celebrates the diverse natural landscape unique to each country - a combination worthy of this year's Women's World Cup.

Adidas has incorporated its latest fabric innovations into each shirt, including lightweight and heat-applied details. The kits for Argentina, Colombia, Germany, Japan, and Spain feature HEAT.RDY technology, which uses materials and textures to keep players cool and comfortable during high-performance moments. Meanwhile, the Sweden kit features AEROREADY technology, which uses sweat-wicking or absorbent materials to keep players feeling dry.

Both authentic and replica versions of each kit are made with a yarn consisting of 50% Parley Ocean Plastic, a type of re-imagined plastic waste collected from remote islands, beaches, and coastal communities, preventing it from polluting our ocean. The other 50% of the yarn is made from recycled polyester, representing Adidas' commitment to ending plastic waste.
