“This is Why I'm a Kidsuper Fan”.

The first time I discovered Colm Dillane and KidSuper was through a mutual friend from Brooklyn, who was wearing a bomber jacket adorned with patched football players. As someone heavily involved in merchandising at OneFootball, I was immediately intrigued. After asking about it, he showed me one of Colm’s music videos and creations, showcasing his deep love for football. It felt like a perfect match—seeing someone seamlessly blend fashion and football was like seeing my passions brought to life. At that time, Colm was still primarily focused on New York and wasn’t yet the global name associated with Louis Vuitton and Puma, but even then, you could feel his creativity breaking boundaries.

We started talking, exchanging ideas for a potential collaboration. For me, it was a dream scenario—working with someone who embodied the fusion of football and creativity. But Colm’s pace was something else. He was already envisioning projects on a global stage, and in hindsight, I think OneFootball might have missed a golden opportunity to partner with him before he exploded onto the world stage.

I later had another chance to connect with him when I attended the opening of PSG’s New York store. After the event, I made a detour to visit his upcoming studio and store in Brooklyn, right after his remarkable “Sotheby’s-style” show. We brainstormed ideas, and he even envisioned building a football cage on the rooftop of his studio. Experiencing Colm’s creative energy firsthand during that visit was incredible. He was approachable and open, yet intensely focused on every detail of KidSuper’s world. For me, witnessing how seamlessly he fused football, fashion, and art in such a dynamic way made it clear that his vision was not only ahead of its time but also deeply resonant with my own journey and passions.

What truly sets him apart is his unpredictability, always presenting something fresh, as he did during Paris Fashion Week with his “String Theory” show, where Ronaldinho—both his and my idol—not only inspired the pieces but walked the runway, bringing the essence of Joga Bonito to the world of high fashion. This show wasn’t just a show but a tribute to Ronaldinho’s flair and creativity. Colm has never hidden his passion for football, having played in tournaments and even created a KidSuper Football Club to help underprivileged areas in New York. His approach to design parallels Ronaldinho’s approach to football, creating magic in every move, surprising his audience with every collection. The playful yet thoughtful execution of his designs reflects the vibrancy of the game, echoing Ronaldinho's joyful spirit, as Colm described when he said he wanted to stage a "theatrical comedy" in fashion.

Now, with rumors of another Ronaldinho collaboration, we should be beyond excited, at least I am! Drawing inspiration from iconic moments like posters of football legends in players’ rooms—think Zlatan and Mbappé with their childhood heroes—Colm is bringing that nostalgic energy to his next project.

I’m really looking forward to the full unveiling of Colm Dillane's next project, especially with the excitement building online. Recently, none other than Vinicius Jr. dropped a comment on Colm’s post, which has me thinking—could Vinicius be part of his next fashion show or even a new collaboration? The thought of two masters of flair, one in fashion and the other on the pitch, coming together feels like the perfect match. It would be amazing to see that kind of energy brought to life.
